AOWC applauds every advance in American offshore wind development, and we're thrilled to see Dominion Energy's Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind pilot project taking an important first step. First movers like Dominion must rely on European companies that have experience in building offshore wind projects or the necessary components, because America's offshore wind supply chain is still in its infancy. But we have to move fast to build up America's capacity to provide the materials, labor and know-how needed to expand our offshore wind capacity because we are in early days of what will be a transformational, once-in-a-generation opportunity for America's workers, maritime industry, shipbuilders, manufacturers, steelmakers and energy providers.
Our mission at the American Offshore Wind Coalition is to make sure that American workers and companies benefits from an enormous window of opportunity worth hundreds of billions of dollars that can provide decades of work and investment while revitalizing communities, training a workforce for the future and generating new revenue streams for U.S. industries.
